“Intermountain Health On-Demand services are designed to meet men where they are — making it simpler, more comfortable, and more accessible to get the care they need.”
Salt Lake City, UT (PRUnderground) June 24th, 2026

June is Men’s Health Awareness Month. and new Intermountain Health On-Demand Services provide convenient, private, and personalized healthcare options that can help remove some of the common barriers that prevent men from seeking care.
“Too often, men delay care because of busy schedules, stigma, or inconvenience,” said Mason Hilton, Intermountain Health Pharmacy Services operations director. “On-Demand services are designed to meet men where they are — making it simpler, more comfortable, and more accessible to get the care they need.”
Intermountain’s On-Demand services are designed to :
- Provide convenient, self-service access to treatment
- Eliminate the need to travel or take time off work
- Provide discreet access to sensitive health topics
- Offer straightforward, easy-to-use digital tools
- Deliver medications, medical supplies, and testing directly to patients
Providing Access to Proactive Care
Hilton says that men are significantly less likely to seek proactive or preventive care, often delaying treatment even when they have health concerns. Proactive care, including health screenings and regular check-ups with a primary care provider, are key to long-term health. Making that care convenient can help men actually follow through.
For example, adults at average risk for colorectal cancer should get their first screening at age 45. A FIT kit is a colorectal cancer screening lab kit. The kit includes all supplies and instructions needed to collect a stool sample. Kits are mailed to an individual’s home with instructions on how to complete and return it in the mail. Results are posted in the individual’s Intermountain Health medical record found in the MyChart patient portal.
Through On-Demand, men can self-order many common blood tests. Intermountain’s at‑home lab draw service is flexible—there isn’t just one fixed panel. Instead, a phlebotomist comes to the individual’s home and collects the same kinds of labs a person would normally get in a clinic, depending on what the individual (or their provider) orders.
Other On-Demand Services Are Available to Address Men’s Health
Intermountain Health’s On-Demand platform offers support for a range of common men’s health concerns, including:
- Seasonal allergy relief
- Weight loss treatment
- Nicotine or tobacco cessation
- Durable medical equipment such as crutches or CPAP equipment
- Athlete’s foot treatment
- Hair loss treatment
- Erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and other sexual health concerns
- Treatment for acid reflux, motion sickness, etc.
“Our focus is on helping people live the healthiest lives possible,” said Hilton. “That means creating care options that feel approachable and removing obstacles so patients can act sooner—before small health concerns progress to chronic disease.
Patients can complete a brief online screening, consult with a pharmacist or provider if needed, and have medications, supplies, or at-home test kits delivered directly to their door—without needing a traditional appointment.
For more complex concerns, patients can seamlessly transition to a virtual visit with an Intermountain provider, ensuring continuous, coordinated care across services.
A simpler path to better health
Men still need to see their primary care doctor annually for a physical, since their doctor can help them identify and address health concerns. There are some routine and preventive screenings that can only be done in-person at a clinic visit.
However, Intermountain Health’s On-Demand services are part of a broader virtual care model that gives patients flexibility to choose the option that works best for them—from messaging a provider to scheduling a video visit or starting care immediately. https://intermountainhealthcare.org/services/virtual-care
Intermountain Health Telehealth services can make being able to see a doctor or clinician easier, providing virtual care 24/7 for many routine or urgent care issues.
By combining clinical expertise with modern technology, Intermountain Health continues to lead the way in delivering accessible, high-quality care that fits into everyday life.
